BEER BREAD MIXES

Our plain and new wholegrain Beer Breads are versatile bread mixes that don't use yeast, and require no measuring, no kneading, no proving and no bread maker! Just add a 330ml bottle of beer (or other carbonated drink).

Keep My Secret Kitchen's Beer Bread Mixes in your cupboard – they're so handy when you run out of your usual loaf, or when unexpected guests arrive. Alternatively, make a loaf up, place it in a brown paper bag and pop it in the freezer until you need it.

The wholegrain bread is malty and wholesome, while the plain mix can also be used to make sweet recipes. To put Beer Bread to good use, you might like to:

• Serve it with other foods to make a meal –
  soups, salads, chilli etc
• Use other carbonated drinks such as tonic water,
  lemonade, Appletize– or even Guinness.
• Adding your favourite grated cheese and
  mixed herbs or with caramelised onions and
  a dash of mustard.
• Make a flat bread or foccacia-style bread
  by baking in a flat sheet and drizzling with
  olive oil before baking (add sun dried
  tomatos, fresh rosemary etc).
• Add 50g sugar and add raisins or your
  favourite flavours to make a tea bread.

Each mix comes as 2 x 500g packs,
and each pack makes one large or
two small loaves.

Product information

Ingredients (Plain Beer Bread): Wheat Flour, Raising Agents (Sodium Bicarbonate, Disodium Diphosphate), Dextrose, Sugar, Salt. Ingredients (Wholegrain Beer Bread): Malted Grain Flour, Dextrose, Raising Agents (Sodium Bicarbonate, Disodium Diphosphate, Wheat Flour), Sugar, Salt. Storage: store in a cool, dry place. Directions: Mix with 330ml beer, bake at 175C (gas mark 4) in a greased 9” x 5” loaf pan for 35 to 45 mins until golden.
