FAQs about hosting
A TASTING
People often ask us the same questions and make the same comments about hosting a tasting. We've gathered the most popular ones together here in case you were thinking the same thing...
Does it cost me anything to host a tasting?
It does not cost anything except some time to invite your friends and to provide some drinks at the event. You can provide some additional ingredients that your consultant will help you choose.
My friends are tired of home parties, what is special about a tasting?
We run tasting events as a way for people to get together and try new foods and have an enjoyable time sharing with friends and family. You also get so much more – the recipe ideas and it’s a great way to buy food. There are many ways of hosting an event – we can do a buffet presentation if you think your friends would prefer an informal gathering.
I don’t like to be seen as selling to my friends –
why should I host a tasting?
It’s understandable, some people are uncomfortable about this. This is why we’ve gone to great lengths to encourage a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Hosts give an enjoyable, sociable occasion to their friends and the opportunity for them to buy something special. We are open about our product range and give you menus to show your friends so that they can make an informed decision about attending. You can always 'off set' your tasting by donating your rewards at the end of the event or even raffle off your gifts to your friends to thank them for coming.
My house is really small – I don't think I've enough room
to host a tasting.
Our tastings fit all manner of homes, we can host the tasting in two rooms and if it is a nice day we can hold it in the garden. The average number of guests at a tasting is eight to 10 people but we do not place minimums or maximums – you are the host and it is your home so feel free to decide how many people to invite.
I’d like to host a tasting but I’m really busy.
Tastings can be provisionally booked in advance. We can then confirm nearer the time if the date is still suitable. Alternatively, we can just call you in a few weeks to see if you have more time.
Remember: all you need to do is invite some friends and provide some drinks, a My Secret Kitchen tasting is such an easy way to entertain! And it gives you get the chance to chat with your friends rather than spend time in the kitchen.
I don’t think I know enough people to invite.
We can help you put together your guest list; even if people have attended before it is still a chance to get together with friends and we regularly introduce new recipe ideas and products so it is likely they will find something new. Even with just a few friends it will be a wonderful time.
